The Choi Boyz

C and I have been talking a lot about having a picture taken of the 3 generation Choi boys and last weekend, we finally did it. We got the 3 boys - T, C's dad and C all dressed in the same color and took some cute pics of the Choi boys. It so happened that my sister S was also in red and my mother in law, C's mom, was also in red so we coordinated additional pictures with T and the ladies. Mommy was the only one who didn't deserve to be in the pics since she didn't wear a red top. Guess she didn't get the memo...

As for dedication to this blog (a-hem..), I am writing this entry from Beijing and will be here all week. This will be the longest I will have gone without T. Sigh. Hopefully, he'll remember who I am when I return and not give me one of those empty looks he likes to give me sometimes. So long as he doesn't start crying the minute he sees me (as he did once a month or two ago) I guess, it will teach mommy a lesson to never leave little pumpkin bear again!

As for new updates, T finally had his 4-month doctor visit last Monday. We found that he's now in the 90th percentile in terms of weight. Two months ago, I would have been jumping for joy. Now I'm starting to get a bit nervous. With the current trajectory, he will be the the fattest little baby boy in the universe by the time he's 6 months. I guess that means we need to put T on a serious exercise regime with the Jumperoo!

Gotta sign off for now but here are some pics and a cute video from last week when Auntie E came for a visit.

Seizing the moment

These days T is a professional model. The minute he sees the camera, he does a good job of staring at it and smiling (with a few Elmo balloon nudges). I guess that's what happens when you've had a camera in front of your face from day 1. This weekend, I tried to take some close-up shots of T. I know some of the shots may look repetitive but wanted to capture the little movements he made while lying on the couch and playing or falling on his cushion-blocks. These days, it feels like he's growing so fast and changing so much, as parents, C and I want to seize the moment and enjoy every nano-second of it -- hence my attempts to capture every movement.

T over the span of 5 minutes (and a few other photo sessions with Teddy and daddy's shoes).

Fantastic Four!

Another month, another birthday. Happy 4 months, pumpkin!! Yes, this time around, mommy was a bit burnt out from all the monthly celebrations that she didn't get around to organizing anything until this past weekend. Organizing is an overstatement since we just took the old birthday hats we had, bought some cake from our favorite bakery (Draegers, we love you) & then took out our good old camera and --wadaboombam-- another birthday was celebrated!

As for little T, he's drooling quite a bit these days and usually likes to stick his whole fist into his mouth. C and I think its the start of the whole teething process since he's never done this before and both are normal signs of teething. What else..?

  • He's likely about 17 pounds (we haven't taken him to the doctor yet for his weight); eating about 24-27 ounces/day; for some of you, this may be disgusting but it needs to be recorded since bowel movements are critical to monitor (he he); he poops once every 3 days (no thanks to formula).

  • He blabs a lot; add drool and a smile to it and he's one mouthful little baby!

  • He looks less chunky (which isn't saying much since he was super fat before). He still has his layers just 2-3 less (vs. the 8-9 he used to have)

  • He sleeps on his tummy and at times, face down. Yes, it's the strangest thing and I bet most mothers who read this would shudder at the thought. I do. But somehow it seems to be his favorite. His face is almost face down. I've tried to stop him from doing it but he somehow keeps going back to the same position. Hmmm, this probably explains why his nose keeps looking flatter and flatter...

  • He is starting to grab things. Things such as mommy's hair, mommy's dangling earring (while she's wearing it)...ouch. In grabbing things, he likes to also put his hands together as though he's thinking or praying. It's cute.

  • He's got slightly curly hair. C loves it and wishes he could have T's hair. No perms needed for T!!

Happy birthday, my little fantastic four munchkin!

Happy 4 months to meeee!!
