Gymboree time

So, after 9 months of hearing about Gymboree, C and I finally took the plunge. Yes, C and I finally stepped up as parents and took T to his first gymboree class. I have to admit -- our commitment to taking T to weekly Gymboree classes came less from our desire to let T crawl free and socialize with other babies (although that was a strong driver!) but moreso from our realization that T was scared of rolling balls. Yes, every time we would roll balls to him, he would shut his eyes from fear. C and I (but in particular C!) was so alarmed, we bought a bag of balls and spent the next week rolling balls to him when we got home from work. Heaven forbid, little T makes a slow start in playing golf, hockey, soccer and tennis all because of his fear of rolling balls!

Happy to report that T no longer shuts his eyes when we roll balls to him. Instead, he ignores them and crawls the other way. Oh well..

I love crawling!

Daddy, do you love gymboree too?

Eight is Enough

It's been a while, I know. And for many of you who may not know this, mommy wasn't the last author of the previous entry. As much as I would like to claim authorship of the last one (thought it was well-written, humorous and sweet), C gets the credit. Thanks to mom's hectic workload, daddy C swooped in and quickly, heroically cobbled together a winning entry. Clap, clap!

Since the last entry, T has grown quite a bit. He's now an avid crawler, loves to lean on things to try and stand and babbles away random consonants and vowels stringed together (no 'mama', 'papa' yet though). Bed-time has gotten tough as when T refuses to sleep (which seems to be almost every night), he will stand and smile incessantly (with his eyes closed) and squeal/yell until someone comes to pick him up. Either that or he will shed real human tears and give you the saddest face pleading for crib release. C and I are convinced that T thinks smiling means closing his eyes and widening his mouth. It's the cutest thing for sure, in particular when his eyes disappear and his dimples and two bottom teeth appear against his plump round michelin cheeks. Kinda reminds us of a happy baby hippo.

It's hard to imagine how our little pumpkin can get any cuter but he keeps doing the world injustice by acting/looking cuter and cuter. So cute, it's becoming difficult to go to work and much more exciting and rewarding to return.

Just so I don't forget when I look back - T is about 21 pounds now and drinks about 25 ounces a day. Loves his solids, in particular the food/fruit we eat. Loves to jump on mommy and daddy's bed.

Big nine month birthday coming up and because mommy and daddy missed the 7th and 8th, you'll be sure to know that a party will be happening at #336 to celebrate T's 9 months of life!! Stay tuned for pics to come. Until then, hippo hugs and kisses from T. xoxo.

I am 8 months old!
