I'm back!

Well, Mommy's been very very busy these last several weeks with her work, so she hasn't had a chance to update my blog...so I thought I would help her out this week and give everyone a quick update of all the things that have been going on here at chez choi.

I'll be officially turning 8 months next week - yay! (my how the time flies when you're having fun)....although it seems like it's been a while since mommy and daddy had a little party for me, complete with elmo balloons and cake.

Since the last time we saw each other, it seems there has been an endless stream of new experiences and some 'firsts' that I am quite proud of if I do say so myself. Here are some highlights:

  • My first haircut. Mommy and daddy thought I was starting to look pretty shaggy. I guess it was the curls that were starting to hang over my eyes and ears and my cool mullet in the back that made them think so. So they took me to C's salon where I got my very first cut! It was kind of cool in the beginning, but then I got bored and started crying at the end to let everyone know that, hey, enough is enough.

  • Started crawling this week. Mommy was getting worried that I would never be capable of moving myself around. (Can I help it if I like flopping around on my tummy with my arms stretched out wide like I'm superman? Mobility is totally overrated.). Anyway, to calm her fears, I decided to start taking my first crawling steps. I especially like crawling toward the mirror where I can admire my own technique. Now that I've started getting the hang of this, I can see serious potential for exploring every nook and cranny of the house. Watch out world...here I come.

  • My favorite toy. I still enjoy the occasional session on the jumperoo, although it is starting to get so, like, '1 month ago'. Now, I'm obsessed with my new "Walkabout" toy. This is the one where I can sit in the little seat that has wheels, and walk in circles around the center table that has all kinds of fun toys attached to it. Man, sometimes I can walk around in that thing forever. I think mommy and daddy like it too, since they've placed it upstairs next to their desks where they go on doing their boring work while I'm whizzing around like a race car driver.

  • Met a whole bunch of fun, new people. Let's see, there was Mommy's friend Auntie M and her cool daughter miss J who came to visit us after their bike ride. And then there was Mommy's older brother J, auntie Y, and my awesome little cousin Y2 who visited from Korea and stayed with us. How fun. We'll write more about this in a separate posting.

Phew, now I'm pooped (uh oh, maybe literally). There's a warm bottle of milk downstairs that has my name on it so I'm outta here. Enjoy the pics, and I'll be back again soon.

The model in me

Last weekend, C and I took Tristie for some professional baby shots. As a celebration of his 6 months, we thought it was time to do some official shots of our little dumpling before he grows too big and we forget how round and soft he is (and aren't able to capture it in the same way as these professional shots do). So, we packed our gear and went to Menlo Park where Robin's home/studio was and spent an hour waving, calling T's name and shaking rattlers to get him to smile and look our way. While he barely cracked a smile for the shoot, he didn't fuss or cry too much. For most of the shoot, he was a good, calm baby. As I was particularly interested in black and white shots and having close-ups of his body parts (hands, feet, thighs, etc.), most of the photos posted (as you shall see) are colorless and close-up shots of random body parts.

These days, T feels like he's growing (physically) so fast. Just last week, we put him in an exersaucer-like toy I bought him a month ago and his toes barely touched the ground. One week later (this past Friday), his toes were touching the ground and he was able to move himself around in it. Amazing how much change an infant can undergo in just 5 days!

Since we didn't take many pictures this week and I haven't gotten around to taking any today, I thought we'd use these lovely professional-like shots as our official posting for the week :-)
